      <title>Barcode scanner is not recognized on Square Register</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I have a Honeywell Voyager&amp;nbsp;1472G2D scanner. It shows compatible but when I plug it into the hub it still shows "no compatible barcode scanner found". I have tried factory reset, and it is connected but the register does not recognize it&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;a href="https://community.squareup.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/679728"&gt;@dealsandsteals&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Try plugging the USB port into a computer, this will test to see if the Scanner itself is defective.&amp;nbsp; Once plugged into a computer test scanning an item when you have a text document open.&amp;nbsp; The scanned barcode should be imputted in the document where the curser is.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I also just looked and your model is compatible with Square and the Register.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;When I plug in my Scanner(s)&amp;nbsp; sometimes they do not register and I have to unplug them or plug them in a different port.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;You say you tried a Factory Reset..... on what the Register or the Scanner?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Make sure your Register is on the most up to date version of Square.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;When I first started with Square I bought a cheap scanner, it was not compatible and Square left me know it was incompatible as soon as I plugged it in.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;So make sure your scanner works with a computer, and also make sure the Scanner is fully charged.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The other thing is some scanners might need to be in a certain transmission or input method.&amp;nbsp; My scanners are USB and able to be in Bluetooth modes.&amp;nbsp; If I grab the Bluetooth version it will not connect to my Square Stands.&amp;nbsp; I also had to put the scanner into IOS Keyboard mode by scanning barcodes to setup this.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Since I use Square Stands and not the Register, I am not sure if there is an input method you need beyond the Default settings the scanner comes with.&amp;nbsp;For me if my scanner acts up, I scan the Return to default, unplug the USB and then plug it back in.&amp;nbsp; The scanner is then fine.&amp;nbsp; I usually only have to do this when I am testing different random barcodes I make, and must have accidentally made a programming barcode.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Here is a Programming Manual for the 1472g series.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;A href="https://prod-edam.honeywell.com/content/dam/honeywell-edam/sps/ppr/en-au/public/products/barcode-scanners/general-purpose-handheld/1472g/documents/sps-ppr-vg1472-en-qs.pdf?download=false" target="_blank" rel="noopener"&gt;general-purpose-handheld/1472g&lt;/A&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;From what I am seeing quickly is when connected by USB you also need a Power supply plugged in....page 3 of the quick start guide link above in blue.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
