Ipad w/audio jack not supported?

I had no problems using the Square dongle to swipe magstripes with my iPad in the past. Now that I am getting ready for a sale tomorrow, it seems that this method is no longer supported. I'm told to use a Mac or Chromebook. I don't have either of those. Am I SOL for my market tomorrow?

I'm using an 8th gen iPad running IOS 15.6.1

It sounds like you are using a Reader for magstripe (with headset jack) along with your iPad, correct? Per our hardware compatibility site here, your iPad is compatible with this reader. Are you using an adapter of any sort?
