Hello @JulieP !

I'm not aware of a way to make a mandatory description field pop up, especially on a custom item. However, you can tap on the custom item once it's in the "tape" on the right side of the screen. A screen will pop up that will allow you to enter a note on the item.

One other thing that may make your finance associate's life easier would be to create a Misc item in each category. As an example, I have a Misc Breakfast and Misc Lunch item in my Breakfast and Lunch categories respectively. If we have a one-off item, we can at least have it categorized so our bookkeeper doesn't have to call us each time we have a misc item.

Hope this helps!

I have an item called NOTE for those items that are one-off type of things. I would like there to be a mandatory field to fill in a description of what the item is. This helps our finance associate know where to attribute the income. Is this possible in a variable item field?
