Quantity on order needs work

Am I just missing the fact that there is NO place to see quantity on order? As a retail business, this is vital for inventory! Another line column on the side of inventory would be so beneficial. I am liking square, but as for "retail" it is missing a LOT of key features to be considered retail.

In addition to being able to see what is on order as stated above.... the purchase order set up needs some big changes as well. It is double or even triple work to make a purchase order that should be much more simplified.

Currently I have to go to ITEMS to see what I have in stock, Then I have to go to PURCHASE ORDER to look to see if I have already ordered the item. Then I create a NEW PURCHASE ORDER and enter each item individually. EACH ITEM???? That is so time consuming!!

1) A line item needs to be added in ITEMS to show ON ORDER

2) Purchase orders need to be able to be filtered further to bring everything into view either by company or department. In that view, I should be able to see <whats in stock> AND <on order>.

Since I am looking at a entire department or company.... I should then have the ability to easily remove a item from purchase order OR add a quantity to order. Once finished I should be able to CREATE PURCHASE ORDER. Of course having the ability to add more items from another department if needed before PO is finalized.

This is vital to retail. I am loving the ease of use, the online store... but for this reason I would not suggest this for a retail business.

Now please correct me if have just missed all these key features that are needed.

1. You might want to use low stock alerts. While this doesn't give the ability to see that they are on an order, it might give you a better idea of what someone is ordering because it will alert you if the stock is low. That might help give you an idea whether or not a particular item is on order.

I do use low stock alerts..... but when I have over 200 items and each with several variations, do you realize how mundane of a task that is to use? AND low stock alerts do not tell me if I already have something on order. I have doubled ordered so many times since getting this system. I think Quickbooks POS is somewhat out dated, but their Purchase Order set up and quantity on order columns are much better for retail.
