Item import - no sales tax

When importing new items using the spreadsheet template, there is no way to set sales tax for an item. Do I have to go into each item and manually set the sales tax after import? Or is there some bulk way to do this?

Hey @Cheesetique if the tax rate is already created in Dashboard, you can definitely assign taxes in bulk with an import. Enter Y in the tax column at the very end of your spreadsheet then select Modify Item Library when importing.

I just tested on my demo account. The new item added on the spreadsheet appeared in my item library with tax applied.

Are you seeing the Tax column on your spreadsheet? Are you getting an import error?

Hi there, Justin. Thanks for your reply! I don't see a Tax column I my template. However, when I export my existing catalog, I do see it there. I will add those Tax columns to the import file I'm using and hopefully that will solve it. Thank you again!

Hi! Just found this thread. I do get an error message when I attempt to import- it says something about not having multiple sales tax columns with the same value but I left the sheet exactly how it was exported so I'm not what the problem is. Could someone help?

Hello there @briannam

If you are adding new items to the sheet, you will need to make sure that these newly added items have the correct configuration for your sales tax settings. This means that if you have a tax, you would need to make sure to include if it applies to it or not.
