Condiment as Tracked Sales/Inventory Option

Hello Square Community!

New Square user here. Just launched our POS at our seasonal agritourism venue this past weekend. Really impressed with the way it dramatically improved our efficiency in our concessions areas and think I'll be a customer for a long time.

I put a bit of thought into the item catalog last week with respect to variables, options and modifiers but think I may need to tweek a few things for next weekend. For example, we have certain condiments (i.e. extra cheese, chili, jalapenos) that are offered on multiple menu items (i.e. burgers, dogs, pretzels, chili pies, etc.) I created a "Condiment" modifier and applied it to these items accordingly and it worked like a charm at least in terms of getting the orders correct and printing on the order tickets, etc. However, I'd like to be able to know how many times jalapenos were purchased so that I can get an idea of how much to order based on this past weekend's sales.

I like the the way the modifiers are listed on the menu screen on the square terminal and would like it to continue to appear that way from a user interface perspective and ticket printing, etc. but is there any way to determine this info outside of creating a distinct item for every combination of condiment option on say a hamburger or creating an item for each condiment in general (as this wouldn't help the kitchen staff prepare the order)?

There's gotta be a way... am I missing something?

Update: I think I found a way... not on a displayed report but downloading the CSV from the detailed Item Sales report and summing the counts for the modifiers column containing the particular extra in question.

I wish there was a way to track ingredients, Looks like you found a suitable workaround for the time being while we implement improvements.

In case you didn't know, there's also a Modifier Sales report that's available in the list of reports offered in Dashboard. Might be easier,
