Tax Exempt Transactions

Is there a quick way to view all of my sales tax exempt transactions? This is a pretty basic need for any business filing taxes, at least in AZ. I have to file quarterly and I can't sit here and sift through all of my transactions and pick out which were food and which weren't.

Do you need to see Every tax exempt transaction or do you just need a Total of all your Tax exempt sales?

On your Square Dashboard > Reports you can see Summary which lists your Gross Sales.

On the left side you can look down the list and see Sales Taxes.... click there and then you will get a total of Taxable sales and untaxed sales.

this is what I use for my monthly taxes to the state of Pa.

The solution I gave does a way to see the Total sales,

Now if you want to see each Transaction:

On a computer goto your Square Dashboard Link : https://app.squareup.com/dashboard/
Tap Transactions
Select Timeframe (Day Week Last Month etc)
Click Export top right
Choose the csv file you would like, summary, detail, items. (hint you may want to download all 3 the first time to see which one fits your needs.
Then open the csv file with a Spreedsheet program like Google sheets or excel.
Find the Tax column and sort from Low to high to get all transactions with $0.00 sales tax

This will show you each Transaction that had no sales tax applied, or you could choose the Sales Tax column for the Items. Some of my items are taxed as others in the sametransaction have no sales tax applied.
