employee has two passcodes

When I set up a new employee square generated two passcodes. One for the app and one for payroll. The app passcode is not tied to the payroll. I can't delete either of the them completely so I can start him back up. I also can't type in the passcode from payroll into the "team" one. Help

Just to be clear, did you happen to set up a team member profile for them prior to creating a staff member profile for them within Payroll?

It sounds like you've created two separate profiles. One in the Payroll section of the Square Dashboard as a staff member, and then one in the Team section of the Square Dashboard as a team member, and perhaps the system isn't recognizing that the employee is the same individual. Is that possible?

Please let me know, as I'd love to hear a bit more about your set up so I can look into further solutions. I can see how having two separate passcodes becomes frustrating.
