Guest Login on Square POS

Has anyone else noticed a Guest Login button on the main screen of their Square POS? It just appeared yesterday so there may have been an update to the system?

Now- instead of having employees enter a 4-digit pin they can just hit the Guest button- it takes them inside and they can ring in a sale, or anything. The only feature they cannot do is open the drawer without a sale.

Does anyone know how to get rid of the Guest button on the main screen or other helpful information in regards to this?

I actually just heard from our Engineering Team that this is a bug on our Square Register. Is that what you're seeing this on?

Thank you Isabelle! Yes we are seeing it on our actual Square Register and we do not want that!

I am glad to hear it is a bug. I wonder if it might just go away on its own?

I just checked our Square Register and yes- it is still appearing in the upper right corner where a team member could put in their 4 digit pin. When you hit the Guest button it bypasses needing a pin and takes you right in. Something we do not want for security purposes.

Our Engineering Team is aware of this issue and currently working on a fix @VisitFortWayne!

Just for a bit more information - do you use Square for Retail software or just general POS on the register?
