I want to create a gift box for customers so they can select multiple items to go into the gift box, and when they select, let's say 3 from a list of 12, the 3 they chose will come out of inventory when they purchase the box

The only way to accomplish that and track inventory in the process is by setting up variations will all possible combinations.

Modifiers would be the cleanest and easiest solution, but inventory isn't tracked for modifiers.
