This works for me in "Description":

In Excel use "ALT + ENTER" to add line break. Unfortunately I can't get it to work in "Item Name"

Globally paste copied Values into a new cell using CONCAT.

Item Description Formatting Not Working

Line breaks in item descriptions are broken. My descriptions all have line breaks. For example this description of a cider should look like this:

5.9% abv Cider

A hybrid crab-apple originating from New York, Redfield has a tart, fragrant flavor, like sour cherry. The vivid red flesh of this apple creates a gorgeous dry & aromatic blush cider.

But when I save and go back in to look at it it looks like this:

5.9% abv CiderA hybrid crab-apple originating from New York, Redfield has a tart, fragrant flavor, like sour cherry. The vivid red flesh of this apple creates a gorgeous dry & aromatic blush cider.

Descriptions used to be able to have line breaks. This is going to be a huge problem if I have to go back and change every product description manually.

Hello @ndixon !

This is something I've been bringing up for about a month. Hopefully a fix is on the way.

However, I have found that the description sticks when looking at the item on the online store--most of the time. It looks horrible when viewing the item in the item editor in the dashboard but seems to be ok online.

What I've done to get around this is to build the description in a notepad window separate from the browser then copy and paste it into the description section of the item editor. I then format it further with bold or italicized type and save.

Give the site a minute or two to catch up with your new formatting then check the item in an incognito window. 9 times out of 10 I've found the formatting sticks online but still looks bad in the editor. If it still looks bad, copy and paste again.

I want to tag @Summer2024 on this since she's the one who was helping me with this last month.

You're right. The formatting does look correct online and on the square register. It's just a bummer that it looks like garbage in the editor. I don't think it's worth the time copy pasting it from notepad if it's showing up correct online and in the register.

The Square devs need to fix this though. It's a problem.
