thread Tracking inventory to variations in Orders, Menu Items, Catalog & Fulfilment

We sell beer in cans. You can buy them by the 4pack, single can or case. All of these are variations with different prices and should track to a single inventory of product, i.e. there are 96 single cans, which could be sold as 96 singles or 24 4-packs or 4 cases of 24.

Can Square Retail Plus do this? I can't figure it out?

Hello @ggilmore,

Great question! Right now Square for Retail does not support this but it is something our team is working to implement. You will need to use Shopventory for now if you would like your inventory set up this way. I did provide some more insight into a similar question on this thread. If you do have any other questions let me know!

Um, I asked a similar question and got a 180º different answer from someone else at square: https://www.sellercommunity.com/t5/Square-for-Retail-Discussion/Can-I-use-Square-for-Retail-Inventory-Plus-features-but-still/m-p/623497#M21723

They linked to this article which seems to suggest it is possible but I'm going to try it out to be sure.

https://www.sellercommunity.com/t5/Product-Updates/New-Retail-Feature-Sell-by-Units-and-Stock-Conversion/td-p/350755

Scroll down to Units then Select the Add Units....like 4 pack =4 cans ...

I always have to go back and look up how to set this up when I set it up for new items that I can sell individually or in packs or cases.
