Deli Catering Menu

We have Square for Retail and a deli in our store. We are trying to set up an online catering menu. For example, we have a Burrito Box that serves 10 people, they have a choice of 3 types of burritos- sausage, chorizo & Bacon. How do I set up a modifier where a customer can chose what types of burritos they want in their bo, for example, 3 bacon, 3 sausage and 4 chorizo? Currently when I set up a modifier I can only pick bacon one time, not three.

Any suggestions are appreciated!

Hi @JHOPPE. Currently quantities can not be specified at the modifier level, as you have already learned. I can assure you that this feature has been requested (I’m one seller who has requested it). But at this time I’ve seen no announcements about a change or a beta test for this feature. Your request is one of a number of requests to enhance the capabilities of modifiers.

There are not a lot of workarounds, either, and none of them are good workarounds. You could create and attach 10 duplicate modifier sets each with sausage, chorizo and bacon. This would force customers to select one from each of the ten lists — one list for each “slot” in the burrito box. Obviously, that’s a lot of work for the customers.

You could also create three modifier sets — Sausage, Chorizo and Bacon. Each of those would have 11 options as follows: No Sausage, 1 Sausage, 2 Sausage, etc up to 10 Sausage. Then customers would select how many of each they want. Of course if customers can’t add, then there will be mistakes and you will have to contact them to resolve their inability to add.

Other than those two rather unsatisfying options, I’m at a loss as to how you would implement this given the current restrictions.
