Sales by customer for the past 12 months

Is there a way to export a report of sales by customer for a specific time window? Using the filters on the customer page I am able to get almost there but the only data displayed is still all-time spend instead of just spend during the time window I have requested.

Hi @JacksonEliz. You have hit upon one of my biggest “gripes” with Square Reporting — the lack of comprehensive CRM-style reporting that would tell us everything we ever wanted to know about our customer’s relationship with us. I have read more than a few posts pointing out this deficiency, but the reality is it is where we are. Having said that……..

With some effort you can create spreadsheet reports that will give you the information you seek, in summary or as detailed as you wish. It requires downloading a few base CSVs:

Customer Directory
Transactions CSV (for the desired period)
Either the Item Details CSV or the Item Summary CSV (depending on your needs)

Then you can create other Excel spreadsheets or, better yet, pivot tables or even PowerQuery tables that will give you the information you need. Yes this requires some decent knowledge and comfort with spreadsheets but the information you seek is available.

Also Square does have an App Marketplace where third-party app developers list apps that integrate with Square to give us added functionality. A quick search yielded CX.i which seems to analyze our customer transaction data and provide lots of different insights. Disclaimer — I haven’t used this so I can’t say for sure that it will work for your needs. But it looks to be worth your time as an alternative to setting up spreadsheet reporting on your own. If than doesn’t work, I’d recommending using various search terms in the marketplace to see if another possibility emerges — terms like “reporting,” or “customer reporting” or “customer insights” etc.

I want this same data and have been requesting it for years. Thank you @TheRealChipA for the info above. I may look into that app. Spreadsheets and I sometimes have to go a few rounds and I'm not sure I have the energy for that this week lol
