Need a second order taking device

I have a square register and need to get a second order taking device for big events. If I order a square terminal, will this accomplish my goal? Also will the terminal print tickets like the register for the cooks to see what needs to be made? Thank you.

@Pubdude9866 Yes & yes.

The terminal is a great device. Imagine a mobile phone with a printer attached and built in NFC, dip, & swipe. I really recommend them because you can use them different ways. You can take orders on them as it does have a fully functioning pos, but just not as robust as the register one. If you are printing tickets from the register to pass to the cooks, I haven't used the terminal to print order tickets, but you can connect it to a kitchen printer that is on your network easily or if you use square kds you won't have any problems.

Yes, the terminal can print out in-person order tickets that can be given to the kitchen or prep staff. You can learn more about Printer Profiles in our Seller Community and in our Support Center.

The only issue with the Terminal is you would need a WiFi signal to connect to. The terminal from my understanding only connects through WiFi. You can use your cell as a Hot Spot for the terminal to connect to a WiFi signal. The Terminal does not have a sim card slot that I am aware of to connect to your cell provider.
