thread Get open orders/tickets via API by table ID/Name? in Orders, Menu Items, Catalog & Fulfilment

I've seen some older threads that mentions this isn't possible, however unsure if things have since changed in 2026.

With the Restaurant POS, is it possible to use the Orders API (or another API?) to get open orders/tickets for a specific table ID/name at my location?

i.e. get the open ticket for "Table 1", and return that data via the API?

Following on from this, if this is possible - can you post "partial payments" to the Square POS from an external source.

i.e. Table 1 has a open order/ticket at the value of $100. Can I post:

- First payment of $50, marked as from an external source, and see the open order/ticket on the POS drop the outstanding balance to $50.
- Post the second payment of $50, dropping the outstanding balance to $0 and closing the open order/ticket.
- Is there any kind of "webhook/event" that notifies the table/order/ticket is now closed? Therefore an external app could detect when the POS system has closed the order after it's been fully paid.

Thanks,
James
