thread Square KDS – All Day Counts Not Including Open Table Orders in Orders, Menu Items, Catalog & Fulfilment

We're using Square for Restaurants Premium with Square KDS in a busy full-service country pub.
We've noticed what appears to be an issue with the All Day Count on our Kitchen Display System.

Current behaviour:

• Orders sent to an open table/tab appear on the KDS correctly.

• Those orders are displayed in a lighter (grey) text, which appears to indicate they are still attached to an open check.

• However, the items do not contribute to the All Day Count on the left-hand side of the KDS.
For a busy restaurant, this makes the All Day Count unreliable because our chefs need to know how many meals are currently in production, regardless of whether the customer has paid.

Could you please confirm:
1. Is this the expected behaviour of Square KDS?
2. Is there a setting that allows the All Day Count to include all active kitchen items, including those on open tabs?
3. If this isn't expected behaviour, could you investigate whether this is a bug?
We regularly serve several hundred meals on busy days and rely on the All Day Count to manage kitchen production, so having unpaid dine-in orders excluded significantly reduces its usefulness.
Thank you,
Eammon Hamilton
