thread New variation editor help needed - new bulk edit sucks! in Orders, Menu Items, Catalog & Fulfilment

Anyone else finding the new item creation tedious? Especially in variation management?

I have a seasonal retail business and use multiple variations on most items (colors, sizes, etc). The fact that you cannot put in a global price and vendor for variations is just crazy!! Is there something I am missing? The amount of tedious work to do what was so simple before, makes this change almost unusable to me. My season is just ramping up and I am starting to build my inventory, but as a retail store owner I feel that this might just be the straw that pushes me over to lightspeed

For a seasonal catalog, I would avoid rebuilding those variations item-by-item. The least painful workaround is usually an item import/export test: keep one clean variation spreadsheet with the repeated vendor and price fields filled once, upload a tiny batch first, then reuse that file for the rest of the season.
