How to hide modifiers

I have created 2 modifier lists for toppings. My product comes with one free topping and a choice of additional toppings. Because there is no way (at least as far as I can tell) to add a free topping and a choice of more within the same modifier group...I have had to create one modifier group at no charge and a duplicate list with a price.
At the very least now I'd like to be able to "hide" the priced modifier list until the customer chooses to add additional toppings - with a toggle arrow maybe.
Is something like this possible?

Yeah, this is definitely a tricky one with how Square modifiers work.

As far as we know, Square doesn’t really support any conditional logic on modifiers (like hiding/showing a modifier list based on another choice), so you’re kind of stuck with the two main options:

Option 1 (what you’re doing now):
Two modifier sets:

One “Free Topping” set with a max of 1
One “Additional Toppings” set with pricing and the ability to add more

Option 2 (cleaner setup, but harder to market):
Build the “free topping” into the base item price.
For example, if it’s currently a $10 item and toppings are normally $2, set the item price to $8 and then require at least 1 topping selection. That way you don’t need two modifier lists.

I know option 2 makes it harder to market the “free topping included” idea, but realistically those are the only two approaches Square seems to support right now.

Thank you for the response. The "Build Your Banana" is priced out at $8.00 and this includes a free topping and a free drizzle. There are times when a customer does not want a topping and just a drizzle or no topping and only a drizzle. This would begin causing all sorts of accounting nightmare I believe if I priced the base at $6.00 (to account for the 2 free items included).

I don't necessarily like the way I have it set up, but if I could at least "HIDE" the Additional modifiers unless they were required for an order that would help.

I find it very hard to believe that a pizza business has not requested this kind of set up in the past. That seems to be the largest market I can think of that would offer a "topping included" and additional toppings at a charge.
