Tracking inventory when selling sets

I am selling clothing sets: a top and a bottom. BUT I want to give the customer the option to choose one size for the top, and potentially a different size for the bottom. The price would be for the set, so it would need to force them to make a selection in both dropdowns before adding it to their cart. AND, I need to keep track on inventory for both tops and bottoms.

I see your posting this in Square for Retail but sounds like your adding items to a drop down as a customer which sounds like its for online. So my reply is based for retail and not online sales.

Here how you can create a bundle in Square, but I do not think you can use a drop down or seletion with this feature. It has been asked for but do not know if is available. Here is more about Bundles in Square :8057-create-managing-bundles-with-square-for-retail

I created Bundles for my Retail location but then then I need to create the scent bundles and customers can not mix and match them. You need Square for Retail paid Plus I believe for this feture. There is more in the article about this.

I also created a Discount if customer buys 2 items from X category they get a % or $ amount off. This may work if you Top and Bottom in a Category called Sets. Then if a customer buys 2 items from Sets the discount applies, and will track inventory.

Catch is if they buy 2 tops or 2 Bottoms the discount would apply, which I am not sure you would like.

I do have Square for retail plus and I do mean to make this option available online and in store. When bundling I found that it would bundle all the sizes together and the customer isn't able to choose what sizes they wanted. I do want to prevent customers from just ordering a shirt or a bottom. Modifiers would work great if they tracked inventory. My business is changing to focusing on two piece sets, so if I can't get this figured out I might have to find another service. Which sucks because I love how I can see all my data through Square. But I want to offer different sizes to my customers and this is proving to take a lot of time to figure out something that should be simple. 😞

It sounds like my only option is to make 2 different items, one for tops and one for bottoms, or make them buy the set without choosing different sizes. If anyone else has a solution please share.
