Subscription order shows empty cart when selecting "Start Subscription"

My site had been working fine but now all of a sudden when someone purchases a subscription (through a modifier) it starts loading the cart and then I get a 'your cart is empty' page. The settings look good, modifier, shipping, etc. I tried removing the product from the site and then adding it back that didn't work.
