Discounts not showing on printed receipts

Hi,

Since late September my printed receipts no longer show applied discounts, even though email/SMS receipts still do. This is a change from how Square behaved previously. My settings (Show item description, Show discounts, etc.) are all enabled, and I’m applying discounts from my Discounts library at checkout.

Can you confirm if this is an intentional update to receipt formatting, or a bug? Customers expect to see the discount line on their paper receipt, and it was showing until recently.

I have Screenshots: one printed receipt (no discount shown) vs one email receipt (discount line visible) for same transaction available

Email receipt shows the discount. printed doesn’t.

We are experiencing the same. Electronic copy of the receipt shows discounts, but printed does not. Was there a bad update?

Hey @SCA_Fashion – Thanks so much for your patience. This does look like a bug.

Could you share a photo of the printed receipt along with your current settings? Also, the date/time you started to notice this happen. Once I have that, I’ll escalate it to my team so they can take a closer look. I want to make sure we both fully understand what happened. Thanks again for flagging this!

Hi @tacomats – I really appreciate your feedback. As far as I know, there wasn’t an update, so this definitely seems like a glitch. If you could provide the same information I requested from @SCA_Fashion, I can make sure this gets looked into.

"Julie" (we know those are not real names) from Square responded to my support ticket asking for photos. I provided a photo of printed receipt and a screenshot of electronic receipt from Square Dashboard, for the same transaction.

You should see a camera icon that you can click and upload there. If you are having issues, sign out and back into the community. @SCA_Fashion

Thanks for your patience! I see Julie sent a recent email stating that "Show total savings row when more than one discount is applied" and "Show cart-level discounts on the item level" were turned off. She has now enabled them for you. If the issue continues, please feel free to reach back out here or via email.

Please see my reply above. Can you check from your receipt settings in Dashboard that "Show total savings row when more than one discount is applied" and "Show cart-level discounts on the item level."
