Export items to excel - error

Recently, when trying to export the item library, we get the Excel error "We found a problem with some content in "filename". Do you want to recover as much as we can. If I click yes, error, if I click no, ends the session. Any idea how to find out what content is causing this problem, without actually being able to export the file to see any errors?

I'm not familiar with this Excel error. Can you post a screenshot, and is there any more context you can provide?

I don't seem to be able to upload images. I am trying to export the item library, as I have hundreds of times - it's just easier to export, update a block of items, then import them back in rather than edit each item in Square Dashboard as I have to scroll all over the place to do so.

From Item Library, I choose Actions, Export Library, To Excel. The file chugs along for a while, then when complete and I try to open the exported file, I get the error: We found a problem with some content in 'catalog... xlsx'. Do you want us to try to recover as much as we can? If you trust the source of this workbook, click Yes.

If I click yes, it tries to open excel, then repeats the error: Microsoft Excel was attempting to open and repair the file. To start this process again, choose Open and Repair from the Open File Dialog. And in circles we go.

I'm not comfortable using any "repaired" file anyway, not knowing what might be missing or "fixed" and changed, but I'd like to know what's triggering this so I can perhaps fix it in Square to be able to cleanly export again....

Hmm.. Yes, I have not heard of this before. Can you try opening the file in Google Sheets to confirm if it is the actual file that is corrupted, or if the error is related to the way Excel is trying to open it.
