Setting mu Square Register POS to behave how the setting say I can

I am at my last straw dealing with Square as a POS platform. In the Item library I can select the option to "skip item details screen" but whether I check this option on or off when selecting an item that has required modifiers in the Retail POS NO DETAIL SCREEN EVER COMES UP.

Now I downloaded the Regular Square POS onto an ipad that I have and low and behold The item detail screen comes up for the items that have modifiers attached to them and when I turn on to hide the detail screen option wow the detail DOESNT come up JUST LIKE THE OPTION WOULD IMPLY.

WHY DOES THIS NOT WORK ON THE SQUARE FOR RETAIL APP???

Is this by some stupid design or is there an issue that is preventing it from working, Is someone aware of this? is it being fix?

this has been the case ALL year it is fustrating working with the Square system. you have different apps and they all work slightly different on different hardware.

I run a Retail Fish MArket and we have a Take Out Menu and a CAtering Menu.

I would LIKE to be able to build menus like in the Square for Restaurants App

but also I dont have tables.

I would like access to the Inventory functions in Square for Retail

and I would like the options that let me control how some items popup in the POS like the Regular Square POS app

I don't like having to make compromizes for the different features you offers

If I want one then I cant have access to another??????????????

Trying to get the info on how things are SUPPOSED TO WORK is a nightmare

I agree with the sentiment here, fragmenting the features only breaks squares resources into smaller subsets of teams instead of central focused teams.

I am a retail store, but I want to list ingredients for items, but that is for restaurants - Give me one SUPER POS with all the features I could ever want for 1 subscription!
