do cash sales affect inventory

I haven't yet committed to using Square for Retail, but am attracted by the basic inventory functions in Square for Retail Free - I don't need extra functions but I do need to know whether a cash sale can be entered using a barcode scanner and automatically reduce the inventory level?

In fact that makes me wonder, does a barcode scanner work with Square for Retail?

Hi @SueMcL, thanks for reaching out! You can use barcode scanner with Square for Retail. When you can an item at checkout, it'll deduct that item from the inventory and you can complete the sale by either cash or card.
