Switching to retail

One of my venues is currently just on the basic original Square POS, and I am wanting to change to retail. When I initialise it, will it change till layouts and how the items work? We are still busy, so don't want to do it now, but also I leave in a month, so don't want to not be here (since it's so hard to check tills when away)

Hello @ChickenRacer and thank you for your post. I've moved it from the US Community over to the AU boards, as I see you're located in Australia.

Firstly, I'd like to share this page on Square for Retail with you. It shows a preview of the interface, as well as which features are included in each level of the Square for Retail plan. When you activate a paid Square for Retail subscription or 30-day free trial, the layout on your point of sale will be updated to the Square for Retail interface.

If you'd like to check it out before you commit, I recommend taking advantage of the free trial. You could also create a second location on your Square account if you'd prefer to keep Retail separate from your current Point of Sale, so your current setup isn't interfered with while you check out the features.

I am kicking myself, I can just try it, on a seperate iPad, as they are different apps! I was overthinking it haha
