Split tender - Square Terminal linked to Ipad

We have a Square terminal paired to our Main POS for Square restaurants.

Customers are wanting to use EFTPOS gift cards as a split tender (say $10 one card, remain on different card).

EFTPOS gift cards (Australia) can only be swiped - no chip or tap.

When we click Split payment on the Ipad, it greys out the option of taking payment with Square Terminal.

We can't take payment on a Square reader as card is Swipe only, and our Square terminal is the only device that can take swipe cards.

Square readers no longer come with Swipe dongle that plugs into audio jack unless I order one from Amazon in the US.

How are other businesses getting around this?

You've raised a great point here. Currently, the split tender functionality is not supported on Square Terminal when connected with Square Point of Sale, Square Retail POS, and Square for Restaurants POS apps.

We're actively working on enhancing functionality with connected Square Terminals. However, at the moment, I'm afraid that I don't have any seamless workarounds to suggest when customers wish to pay using an EFTPOS gift card specifically. The only alternative would be to use a Square Terminal that isn't connected to your Square for Restaurants POS.
