Can I skip the modifier screen for certain items on the Square for Restaurants POS?

The title of this thread has been edited from the original: making modifiers optional.

Hi all,

I am new to square and I am trying to set up my cafe menu. I have created a modifier set for extras, such as if someone wants to add eggs or avocado, but the problem is that I dont want the modifiers to come up every time I add an item to a customers order, I want to it be like an add on button I need to press to add an add on to a specific item, only if the customer has asked for something extra.

Welcome to the seller community.

This behaviour is controlled at the item level (rather than within the modifier).

If you edit the item in question, Under the 'Checkout behaviour' section.

If you turn on ' Skip item details screen' then the item will be added to the bill without the modifier popup. If you want to add the modifier you just need to edit the item from the bill.
