How to disable the floor plan and reduce ordering steps at the checkout on Restaurants POS.

The title of this thread has been edited from the original: I have more steps to sell a pot of beer than my previous system.

I run a pub and recently set up Square. Works well but have a huge number of steps to sell a simple pot of beer

1.I select the pot size

2.I select the number and push pay

3.then I have to decide what table it goes to (which I don't need) - which we usually push the skip button

4.then pay again depending on the method of payment.

My previous system - I select a pot, type in the multiple and then pay.

Can I eliminate step 3?

Thanks for reaching out.

You can certainly simplify the process by removing the floor plan from your bar counter POS.

Here’s how to do it:

Sign in to your Square Dashboard and go to Settings > Device Management > Profiles > Device Profiles.
On the Device Profiles page, select your Bar profile. A panel will appear on the right side of the page.
Under Settings > Square for Restaurants Countertop, click Manage.
You’ll be directed to the Checkout Settings for the profile.
On the left side of the screen, click Open Bills.
Under Manage add-ons, toggle off Use on this profile and then click Disable open tickets.
Return to the Checkout settings by clicking Checkout on the left side of the screen.
You should now see that Coursing and Floor Plans are disabled.
Make any other necessary changes to the checkout settings and click Save.

To streamline the process further, consider creating separate items for each beer size:

Instead of:

Display Category: “Beers”
Item: “Beer”
Variations: “Pot” / “Schooner” / “Pint”
Select Quantity

You could set up:

Display Category: “Beers”
Item: “Pot” / “Schooner” / “Pint”
Select Quantity
