Error message when attempting to delete an attribute

I keep getting an error stating that something went wrong and I am unable to delete three attributes that I would like to get rid of. How do I make them go away?

That is super frustrating! I am going to outline below some troubleshooting to see if you can get rid of the attribute.

You can’t delete an attribute if it’s attached to:

An active item or item variation
An archived item
- To check:
  - Go to Items > Item Library
  - Use the filter to show “Archived” items
  - Unarchive them temporarily, remove the attribute, then archive again
A modifier set or category

Go to:

Items > Item Library
Use the search bar to find any items using that attribute
Remove the attribute from all linked items manually

If it’s a color, size, or other variation, be sure to check item variations specifically.

After you’ve cleared all connections to the attribute:

Log out of Square
Clear your browser cache or try another browser
Log back in and try deleting the attribute again
