amex gift card used to purchase food items doesnot transfer as depositable income where does my $100 go

Not quite sure what you mean here. Did you process an amex gift card from a customer?

@Pauly-

You can accept gift cards with a Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover logo as long as the transaction price does not exceed the balance of the gift card. Process these cards the same way you would a regular payment card, by swiping the card through the Square Reader, or manually entering the card information.

Square Point of Sale also enables you to organize cheques, gift cards, gift certificates and other payment types without deducting funds from your customer. Please note, if you choose to process a gift card as Other Tender, no money will be processed, as this feature is available for organizational purposes only.

We would suggest refunding the payment and running it again properly with the gift card @Pauly.
