thread Using a Thermal Printer as a Kitchen Printer in Orders, Menu Items, Catalog & Fulfilment

We are hoping to purchase a thermal printer to use for our kitchen tickets, but I notice that Square only sells impact printers under "Kitchen Printers". As an ice cream store, heat is not a problem for our kitchen tickets, and we want to avoid having to replace the ink in an impact printer...Does Square allow a thermal printer to be used to print kitchen tickets?

Hello @SConfectionery !

Yes, any thermal printer can be used for any position in your store. The standard is to keep the impact printers in the kitchen so there's no heat issues with the paper (and the noise...), but you are not bound to do that. I have a thermal running kitchen tickets in my store now.

Hope this helps!

thermals are so much better in the kitchen and match what it prints on the front side. avoid heat of course. keep in mind your modifiers will no longer be in red,
