      <title>Is anyone using Square Text Messaging for Restaurant Reservation Confirmations / Reminders ?</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi -&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;We are a small restaurant/bar that takes reservations via our website (WP using Fluent Forms) because the larger resy apps/systems are too much for us, both financially and feature-wise, for the size of the business we are.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Several of our customers would prefer to text their confirmation - which we are doing using our personal phones. We want to move away from that.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Here are my questions:&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;- Can I do the required opt-in via my website?&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;- Can I send a single person a text confirmation? &amp;nbsp;Or is the texting option only for more extensive campaigns?&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Any help would be appreciated -&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Apt 9F&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;A href="https://apt9f.com" target="_blank"&gt;https://apt9f.com&lt;/A&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

Here's what they let me know:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;I&gt;"&lt;/I&gt;&lt;A href="https://squareup.com/help/us/en/article/7370-square-messages-get-started-guide" target="_blank"&gt;&lt;I&gt;Messages &lt;/I&gt;&lt;/A&gt;&lt;I&gt;can only be used when the customer messages in first. This would be the same number that goes out on &lt;/I&gt;&lt;A href="https://squareup.com/help/us/en/article/5070-send-digital-receipts" target="_blank"&gt;&lt;I&gt;digital receipts&lt;/I&gt;&lt;/A&gt;&lt;I&gt; or &lt;/I&gt;&lt;A href="https://squareup.com/help/us/en/article/6729-customer-confirmations-with-square-appointments" target="_blank"&gt;&lt;I&gt;Appointment confirmations&lt;/I&gt;&lt;/A&gt;&lt;I&gt;, but it's not a number that Square has access to or a number that Sellers can change. If the customers text that number, the Seller could then reply back and continue to send messages in the future."&lt;/I&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I hope this information is helpful but please do let me know if you have any additional questions.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
