Ask Dine In or Take Out

I would like at the start of each transaction for us to ask if they are dining in, or taking out.

If its take-out do they need silverware?

We are primarily a take out business, but we need to know when someone is staying to each, to prep the plates vs containers. 99% of the time our dine in people eat in take out containers!

We actually already have a feature for specifying the dining option on a ticket. For the silverware option, you could create a "silverware" item at no cost and add it to the sale to make sure it's included. Or you could add a note.

@_Violet the current 'dining option' is not the correct flow. When taking an order, with 10 people in line, employees need to follow a system and not have to think about it... 'Dining option' is currently tucked away and hidden in 'actions'. For restaurants like ours that do dine-in, takeout, phone orders and online orders, we need the first step in the POS to be defining order source. The Square for Restaurants app currently does the dine-in and online part well now. But it doesn't take into account phone orders and takeout orders.
