Open Tabs with Native Pay (Apple/Google) for Square for Restaurants???

I'm wondering if anyone knows if/how I can open a tab with Apple Pay or Google Pay in Square for Restaurants? I see it's in the POS app, but for some truly amazing reason it's not in the Restaurants app?? Is this right?

Is there a way of putting a card on file in Square for Restaurants? Cuz that would work too. But this is just so frustrating--why would this feature only be in Square POS and no Square for Restaurants?

Hi @Etheriacafe. Bar tabs/pre-auth is part of a current beta test called Next Generation - Square for Restaurants that was announced a few months ago. Follow that link and you’ll see a description of the beta test, and you should be given the opportunity to join it. This beta includes lots of other things as well, so there is probably no approximation yet of when it will be released to the general public.
