Applying Discounts to one item

Hi - I am trying to create a promotion where you get 1 and only 1 item free if you you buy that + any other item. I have created a discount rule setup, when customer purchases any 1 item from (list of all items) then apply X discount to 1 additional item or equal or lesser value.

Lets call free item - Item A.

Customer Buys: Item A + Item B + Item C - They only get charged for Item B + C and get a discount on Item A. This works as intended .

Customer Buys - Item A (x2) + Item B + Item C - They are getting both quantities of Item A discounted, whereas we only want one of the Item A to be discounted.

Hey @pilka. So your description of what you want is clear enough. But in order to troubleshoot, we need to see your actual discount setup. Please edit your discount from your dashboard and make a few screen shots, and post them here. I suspect that one of your settings is incorrect, but I can’t be sure without more specific information.
