Feature Request: Support for Separate Gratuity and Service Fee Options

Hi Square team,

With all the recent discussions around potential tax changes affecting tips (like the proposed idea of making tips tax-free), it’s becoming more important than ever for restaurant owners to clearly separate gratuity from service fees in our POS systems.

Right now, Square only allows either an automatic service charge or an auto gratuity—not both. But many restaurants, including ours, want to:

for instance...

Automatically add 15% gratuity (for servers)
And 5% service charge (to cover operational costs)

This is a standard structure in many restaurants today, and the inability to separate and automate both charges creates unnecessary manual work and confusion for staff and guests.

As the industry continues to evolve—especially with laws and tax treatment of tips possibly changing—we need more flexibility. A POS system should support real-world restaurant needs. Please consider adding this feature or at least giving us a roadmap.
