I need to be able to use options with a non-unique value. For example, I sell yarn that could be multiple shades of red and I want to group them together within a red family. I've tried custom attributes but those can't be exported. I was advised to use Options, but that requires only one selection of red from the red family in the item.

1. Create an Item Red Family and then you can create Varitaions for the item Red Family. Can be exported

2. Create a Category called Red Family and then have different Shades of Red Yarn in that category

3. You could also create a Parent Category of Yarn with Sub categories or Shades of Color Families with Items of those colors in the sub categories.

The only issue I am having is creating multiple colors with the same Value and not a Unique value. What are you defining as a Unique value for the yarn? Each Shade of red would need a unique sku to define which color the buyer is purchasing.

What are you trying to do if you could explain the way your trying to sell the item(s).
