Anyone using automatic recurring payments? How does it work?

I have a Martial arts business, i am trying to do an automatic recurring payments as i have done for last 15 years. I haven't been able to do it with square yet. Anyone else doing automatic payments?

Thank you for reaching out.

We don't have recurring payments implemented yet, but we have a workaround in the meantime. You can use Recurring Invoices which sends the customer an invoice on the frequency you choose. The customer has the ability to add a card to the payment, so it's automatically taken for each invoice.

This is the common answer, however, it doesn't fit my needs. We have MEMBERS that should be automatically charged monthly, not just invoiced.

HOW DO I SET UP RECURRING CHARGES WITHOUT INVOICING?

Sorry for the confusion @2ManyHats. Square does not offer recurring charges at this time. If this feature comes available in the future we will make sure to post the update here in our Seller Community.

So, just to clarify... Setting it up THIS way, the charges will be processed automatically each month, correct? These folks prefer to be auto-charged and NOT to have to go in each month and authorize that specific payment.

This is correct @SeaItAll. Once your customers subscribe to your payment link they will be automatically debited on their chosen cadence.

Great! One more quick question... Is it possible to change the date that they will be charged? I require that everyone be charged on the 20th of the month, however, I've had a couple who subscribed a day or two late. Can I adjust the payment date to the 20th for future charges?

Since checkout links are considered payment agreements the dates on them cannot be adjusted. The process would consist of unsubscribing and resubscribing on the correct date @SeaItAll
