I also like to see the percentage comparison to the time/day of the previous year. This change-up is cumbersome. I would like the line graph to be in the form of Version 1. This version 2 requires digging and finding the summary data that I need. I simply like the snapshot of how I am doing compared to last year, both hourly and percentage-wise. Version 1 landing presentation is simple and a nice snapshot. If I need more compartive data I will look for it, but usually this presentation suffices.

Does anyone think the new Beta version of showing daily Sales Summary is useful? I can not figure out why Square Inc, finds that using a gauge to show how our daily income is shared by Sales, Tips, Taxes, Fees is better than showing sales by the hour? I think showing hourly sales and WHEN we are most busy is far more valuable than what type of income or taxes or fees. In fact showing our sales by gauge or pie diagram is actually pointless. Does anyone agree with me?

If I'm understanding you correctly in the beta version of the Sales Summary Report you can select the "Report type Summary" at the top and you'll see "Summary by hour" plus many other options. Is this the solution you're asking for?

Yes. When I do a bar or line graph by hour there is no option to compare it to last year. I only see today's date. it is not as useful to see a snapshot of today without showing comparison to last year's relative date.

I see what you are saying. Try asking Square AI "How did my sales hours today compare to the year prior?"

I did this and it worked. It will generate a report for you.

Secondly you can ask "How did my sales hours today compare to the year prior percentage?" and you will receive both. You may have to play around with the wording a little to get exactly what you want.
