How can I setup an automated email or text for signing up for Text Marketing or Loyalty?

I want to offer a coupon or discount for signing up for our text messaging or loyalty or both for first time signing up. This guide: https://community.squareup.com/t5/Square-Marketing/Use-Square-to-Create-a-Text-Message-Marketing-Campaign-A-Short/td-p/615091#_=_

says you can setup text and email campaigns as blast or automations. I do not see any automation option when setting up email or text campaigns. I feel like I stumbled upon the special offer for signing up for text marketing at some point on the platform but now I can't find it.

How can I setup this up? An automatic discount setup for signing up for text messaging marketing that goes out after they sign up for it for this first time?

Firstly, I want to make sure you're following the steps listed in this Support Article. The link you shared to @Helen's post is from 2022 and may have some outdated information. Additionally, I'll tag in some of our Square Champions who also use Square Marketing, so they can offer their tips and tricks for automated campaigns like the one you want to set up: @Phillipsrw @Callee1945 @timberhillwine

HI Violet,

It's not showing me the option to set as an automated text message, just as an option to send now. I followed the guide you reccomended. I attached screen shots of what the last 2 screens look like after editing the design of the text. Thanks

This is still an issue i do not see how to automate text o followed the guide above the screenshots show what I see on my end just send now campaigns not automated

This is the answer if you are looking for an automated way to offer a coupon for signing up for text messaging marketing

At the bottom there is an option to turn on this option I screenshotted it and added it to your thread. This is how in 2025 you can turn on incentives to subscribe to marketing through square. Adding a coupon offer for signing up for Text Message Marketing

Is there still no way in 2026 to send out an automated email welcoming people that have signed up for your email list, rather than just purchased? I can't find the option anywhere and would just like to know if this is, or is not an option at this point.
