I responded to an email from Square about the 868 bounced email. Sent a reply to Square and got an email back that they do not support email contacts. Here is my email. We are getting no help. Why contact me about an issue if they cannot help!

Aloha,

BTW: The support center is virtually useless…

There are a lot of fake email addresses in my system which was placed there by the Square plugin for WordPress for WooCommerce. Bots have been attempting to create accounts on WordPress but failed because the email was fake. However the contact information remains in WordPress and therefore WooCommerce. Square uploaded this fake information and should not have. There was no reason for Square up sync bad information. The information was bad because these fake accounts had no purchases, invoices or orders in the system so there was absolutely no reason to upload this information.

This is how our marketing campaign sent so many bounced emails. We have tried to contact Square about this but we just kept going in circles on the website and could only post in the “Community” which is a TERRIBLE excuse for support. We still need a way to remove fake email addresses and the filters are completely useless. They are so narrow in their working and do not come close to doing what they are supposed to do. We need a way to delete all emails from the domain “example.com” and most gmail addresses which have obvious bad information before the @ sign. Without access to the actual database we are helpless to extract the bad information from the list unless we go thru the list one by one. We feel the we should not have to do this for this was a Square upload mistake not ours. We combat bot much more that anyone else but we can’t combat mistakes contributed to the list by a third party.

We would like a way to extract these email addresses from out like our Square should find a way to excise them.

I find it troubling that I cannot get support directly from Square...

That said, I did an email campaign today and it sent out emails to more customers than I have. Does Square charge by emails sent? If so, I need a refund... There are obvious fake emails in my account for customers that do not exist. The only way they could get there is though the Square back end. I have no way to delete 800 plus fake emails in bulk.

I need theses obvious fake email names out of my customer list. I do not have time to delete them one by one. Of course they are all fake gmail emails addresses. I need help and answers.

Did you try calling Square?

How many emails did you expect to have in your list? Sometimes customers make mistakes, enter wrong emails etc. Do you have an email sign-up form somewhere (like on your website)? How did you build your list?

If you subscribe to Square Premium or Square Plus you receive unlimited emails- so you wouldn't pay per "each".

Hi Dina,

Thanks for your response. Customers cannot put in 1019 wrong email address with no names or addresses... I found out where the emails came from on the back end. It was the Square plugin for WordPress WooCommerce. WordPress was attacked with these fake customer data. The problem is that Square uploaded the fake data from WooCommerce and should not have. There is no reason to upload fake accounts, especially ones with absolutely no purchases and no other valid data to make an account. The fake data was bots trying to make accounts but have failed. This data should not have been uploaded to Square. Now I cannot back this data out for it is mixed with valid data and I have no access to the Square database. The filters are a joke any option always return the same amount of customers (1019) and some of it is actual valid customers. I used the filter "purchases under $1) and this returned 1019 customers and some of the customers actually had purchases, so the filters are useless to back out the data. Deleting the data from WooCommerce and re-syncing the data does not remove the invalid data either. There needs to be a good way to delete the over 800 invalid customers without having to go one by one checking each one.

Called Square Support and was told that I have to contact WordPress to remove emails from my Square account. Isn't that just passing the buck. I can't get emails that are fake removed from my account unless I contact someone else to remove them, But Square complains that I need to remove them but will not give me assistance in removing them. WordPress cannot remove the email addresses for they have been deleted from WordPress and WooCommerce so they have no idea of what to remove or how... NOT HAPPY AT ALL WITH SQUARE SUPPORT!!!

To WordPress Support:

Contacted Square, they said to contact WordPress…

Having a huge problem with the syncing of fake customers to Square using the Square plugin. This should not be happening. Bots attack the WordPress sign in an attempt to create account with fake emails. WordPress logs this information in the users table and WooCommerce puts this information into its customers table. None of these fake customers have any purchases, invoices or orders and should not be synced to Square. The way to know is because the email account has not been verified or activated. Now we have over 800 fake emails in our Square customer list that we cannot remove unless we do it one by one. Square states that since WordPress put the email into Square that WordPress has to get them out. I find this ridiculous that I have to contact a third party to get emails out of my Square account, but here we are…

These fake accounts have been deleted from the WordPress and WooCommerce tables but that does not delete them from Square. This is a huge problem since we sent out an email campaign and got 868 bounced email that square is complaining about and give me no remedy on how to get the fake emails out except to delete the over 800 emails manually by hand. HELP!!!
