Does Loyalty Program work for Variations created by an Option set?

I am thinking of adding the Loyalty program to avoid my punch cards that we have been using for YEARS!!

But when the Option sets came out I decided to make an option set for my different sized candles. This way when i add a New scent I can just have Square apply Option set of the sizes and it creates all the variations. 8oz, 16oz, 28oz, etc....

My question is can I have the Loyalty program apply only to the 28oz candles which are variations of the scent?

for example in my Square Catalog:

Item French Vanilla

Variation SKU

8oz 8oz French Vanilla

16oz 16oz French Vanilla

28oz 28oz French Vanilla

etc etc

1 Gal 1gal French Vanilla

Before I had the Items as the size with the Scent as the variation which is what I am thinking I may have to do.

Looks like you're absolutely right on this one.

Because the feature doesn't quite seamlessly perform that function your workaround will allow you to most successfully complete this for your loyalty reward.

So the old way I had my items set up would have worked but now since I use the Option Set and the sizes are now a Variation, I can not set the Variation of 28oz to be used I have to add each variation of an item 1 by 1. Again this might be a great request for more SUB CATEGORIES or at least the ability to add a Variation to a category. Why so I could assign my variations of a size to a Subcategory or a Category. Currently Square offers me the option To save time and create Option Sets, so I did this to save time when creating a new Item (scent), but now when I want to add a certain Size to a Rewards Program it takes 3 times longer. Below are pictures of my Item which I called Christmas Tree showing all the Variations (17) of sizes. Below that is my Options set which as you can see has of 100 for each Option Variations (150 different Item Scents) was working good till I wanted to add the Loyalty Program.

If I could have a Category or Subcategory of my sizes say 28oz and put all variations in that ALSO to be able to quickly add to a loyalty program that would work. My website I can do things like that, but then my Website is not through Square.

I know the creators of the Options Set thought of just for Sizes of S, M,L, XL etc and not as many variations as I have but you can not tell me sellers may not want to put only S or Kids sizes on for a loyalty program to help move a size that is not selling.

Or even if I could add the Option Variation Name to the loyalty program. That would be a big help. And for the Reward part too. Because we offer Buy 12 28oz jar candles get 1 free. I have a few 28oz jars that are not included that can easily be put into a different option since they are Aromatherapies or Triple Layers.

Just thought of this.... even if I could assign the Variations to different categories than the Item that would help this too. I tried assigning 28oz apple Pie to a Different Category than Item Apple Pie but got an error message when I tried to import the CSV edited file or an error message through the Desktop Dashboard saying Variations must be in the same category as the Item.
