Transactions vs. Customers

I am trying to figure out the difference between the number of transactions in my daily reporting vs the number of customers in Square Loyalty. If a look at the same day, I have many more transactions than I have customers. The customers are then broken into returning customers and new customers. I would assume that transactions should total returning customers + new customers, but this is not the case. Who else is included in transactions?

Hey Kieth! This is a fantastic question.

I’m wondering if maybe some of your patrons pay cash and have zero opportunity to put in any information so it doesn’t come through as a tracked customer but as a transaction? Also often times there are transactions that pop up in the log even if there was no sale made! So that could also be it as well.
