I need to automate an email to a specific group for any customers birthday gift within that group. The gift, a coupon for a free beer at our Brewery 5 days before their B-day. I have created a customer group that when the customers order a certain product, Brewcanics club then are automatically added to the Brewcanics club group, we make sure to add the customer info needed on purchase. I cannot figure out how to set up a Birthday automation that targets this group specifically. Feel like I may not be able to. Any help on this is greatly appreciated.

It looks like automation doesn’t allow you to pick a specific group—it sends to your overall customer directory list. However, with a campaign, you can select a certain group of people.

Oooh! I haven't had to do this but I think I have a workaround. It would require a little work on your part but I'm thinking just once a month? You would need to change the promotion to a free beer in your birthday month, which isn't ideal. But then once a month you would download the Brewcanics club info. Then send out an email to that month's birthday people. I would probably do it on the the 29 or 30th of each month and then set it to resend if unopened after 5 days. It's not pretty and as automatic, but it's only 12 times a year?
