thread Loyalty Rewards - Switching from Per Item in Category to Amount Spent in Customer Engagement

I'm interested in switching from our current system where items in specific categories have been given a specific amount of points, but want to convert to an Amount Spent system.

For example, right now a customer earns 1 point per drink (ranging from $3 - $8 per drink) and 2 points per bag of coffee they purchase (ranging anywhere from $18 - $100). We want to reward for spending more and we're thinking of switching to 1 point per every $3 spent. The goal would be a $5 reward for every $50 spent (or roughly 17 points needed).

So I want to confirm that if we switch to this new system where a customer earns 1 point for every $3 spent, that if a customer spends $15, they would receive 5 points during a transaction.... and then the points would continue to grow the more they spend.

Thanks

Thanks

After thinking about it, we could also offer 1 point for every dollar spent, then it would be 50 points or $50 dollars.

Hello @ewolygerg !

I like your thought process about the point per $3, but I wonder if that would lead to confusion at checkout. I can see customers and your staff having a difficult time doing the math on the fly about when rewards become available. I recommend sticking with your second idea of a point per dollar spent. It still gives the customers the incentive to spend more but the math is a lot easier.
