When will loyalty points work in 3rd party apps?

Hello,

I use Per Diem as a 3rd party loyalty app for our customers. I am running into issues with the developer. When a customer gets a promo for instance "$5 off for their birthday" they cannot use these codes in the 3rd party app.

Is there a reason this doesn't work?

I may not be understanding correctly. Do the codes come from Square or from Per Diem? Can you give me a bit of a rundown what the checkout flow looks like/should look like?
