When customers make a purchase from me do they automatically recieve my marketing emails?

I have a large list of emails that I've collected from purchases back since June of 2021 and just signed up for square marketing.

I have never sent any kind of marketing email before. I want to make a welcome email. Will everyone get them or do i need to promt my customers to sign up?

In order to send Square Marketing emails to your customers, they would need to give consent to be part of an email campaign. I recommend our Getting Started with Square Marketing guide. Thank you. I followed the prompts from that and sent out my first email campaign. I think I've got it figured out. Its really cool to see the reports!
