@Jasonhuntly22 If you're seeing payments doubled up, it sounds like you may have both Square and your bank linked to Xero?

If this is the case, the Square integration isn't able to prevent the bank account integration from also feeding data through to Xero - you'd need to choose one or the other.

Hi All,

I am a Spa and Swim Spa retailer. Most of my products are $10-40k.

I want to use square to accept an initial deposit of $1000 and issue an invoice for the remainder. The amount outstanding will be paid via bank transfer and not taken over square. Can I accept other payments into my bank account? Issue is the accounting software Xero is marking the payment twice. Ie. it marks the bank transfer and then the Square invoice. Is there away to accept bank transfer and still use square invoices without it messing up my Xero account?

Hey @Jasonhuntly22,

You can send an invoice and accept an initial deposit through Square, then take a later payment down the track via your customer using a bank transfer.

You'd need to make it clear to your customer they should pay via manual bank transfer for the remainder amount - the customer will still be given the option of paying via Square. You can leave your bank details in the messaging section of the invoice, then once you see the payment in your bank account, you can record a final payment against the invoice to close it out.

Hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions 🙂

Hi Seamus,

The issue I was having previously was Square was sending the invoice through to Xero and doubling up our amounts. because Xero would see the bank transfer and the Square invoice. has the new integration fixed this?
