Hi @Anbeta1 ,

Big warm welcome to Square and the Square Community! 😀

OK, hair....not my area of expertise but I will give it a shot. 😬

Is the plan to become a mobile stylist where you style hair in the clients home?

If this is the case then I guess you will need a good solid client base that will transition with you and be happy to have their hair styled at home. If you have this then you are halfway there. The challenge will then be to retain and then grow your current client base and this is where the tools that Square offers will really help.

Having a professional looking site is a must, this will be your shop front/salon showcasing your talents to prospective clients, so keeping the site simple, clean with high quality professional photographs of your work will help do the selling. Having the site will also enable you to showcase new services or styling techniques you may want to provide or additional service e.g. nails. I would say with the website you need a good FAQ to explain the process so your clients will know what to expect when booking and on the day of the appointment.

Some of the features in Square such appointments system will streamline your admin process massively and save you so much time. Your clients will be data inputting and managing their appointments helped by the systems automations. The marketing features will also help retain and grow sales. I see you are US based so the text marketing may be a nice feature to look at, so if you have a quieter times or cancellations you can email special offers to keep the continuity of business, you can segregate out via groups your regulars so these my pick up cancelled time slots.

Finally payments, again Squared has this covered whether it be a deposit payment to secure a time slot or payment via the website or at the clients home address after the styling using the a Square reader and the Square app.

Not sure if a loyalty scheme would apply for this particular business model, as I know many clients are loyal to their stylist but you could consider as everybody likes a freebie of sorts so it may help retain clients who are considering a change of stylist.

As @isabelle said this @JessPoynter area of expertise and will know a lot more about what works and what doesn't. Generally speaking Square tools will make an excellent fit for your business and make your life and business a whole lot easier. Good luck.

Now breathe! 😨

Selling retail? Selling memberships? Selling virtual services?
